Hymn on the 45

They cut it fine, but it’s never too late to release a great record. And especially when it’s a record that, head and shoulders above the competition, claims the Heard on the Wire award for single of the year.

It’s Allo Darlin’s valediction, for the Anglo-Australians who’ve given us eight years of outstanding punk–pop have decided to call it a day. And what a way to do it, with a single that packs two perfect punches, as all singles should do. The A-side would have been enough, but the b-side eclipses all. I could listen to this again, and again, and again, Actually, I just have.

Goodbye Darlin’s.
