And so, as the first half of 2016 drifts off behind us, it’s time to reflect on some more records from…
…the second half of 2015, and thereby, musically speaking, put that year to bed, tie up loose ends and leave no stone unturned.
Chorusgirl are the first jangle ’n’ roll band featured hereabouts, but since they appear to have eponymously coined the label, that’s hardly a surprise. Their LP, Oh, To Be A Defector, was recorded in Cologne, a city in Germany, but the band are from London. Stick that up your Farage, Farage.
Chorusgirl // We Care About You
Strawberry Whiplash are a Noise Pop band hailing from Glasgow, Scotland. They have built a feedback wall of sunshine sound out of old fuzz boxes and reverbed drums. Laz plays the instruments and Sandra sings and they use the subjunctive.

Strawberry Whiplash // If Surface Were Depth
Every since I hear the brilliant debut LP by Decibelles, each new release by the French trio has been eagerly awaited. While this is no patch on the song that was my favourite of 2011, it still repays some of that eagerness. And what more can we ask than that?
Decibelles // Vol de Nuit
And, finally, the last record from 2015, at least until I hear something else.
Home Clouds // Secret Life
