I would kill a man just to hold your hand

Lilo

I’d always thought a lilo was something that panicking parents chase when they realise their children are obliviously floating out to a watery oblivion.

But apparently, it’s the nomme de gloire of one-time actress, sometime model and convict Lindsay Lohan. The things you learn.

Lindsay Morgan Lohan is an American actress, model, producer and recording artist. She began her career as a child fashion model when she was three, and was later featured on the soap opera Another World for a year when she was 10. At age 11, Lohan made her motion picture debut in Disney’s remake of The Parent Trap, a critical and commercial hit. Her next motion picture, Disney’s remake of Freaky Friday, was also a success at the box office and with critics. With the release of Mean Girls, another critical and commercial success, Lohan became a household name and a frequent focus of paparazzi and tabloids.

I guess I should get out more.

The LiLos are from Macclesfield Cheshire and describe themselves as “the musical interpretation of the life and essence of Ms Lohan,”—to the extent that the entirety of their LP, Number 37, is dedicated to musings on their eponymous heroine.

The LiLos :: Hollywood Rebel

The LiLos :: Catholic Child

Critical success did not stretch as far Ms Lohan’s Paris fashion debut, which is about as lame a link as I have ever managed (and, believe me, I’ve tried).

The Paris Work-in are another the EardrumsPop cover collaborations that have contributed to three-volume Between Two Waves collection. This meeting of The Mare and There is Thunder in Our Hearts channels the Pains of Being Pure at Heart to bring us two minutes of musical marvellousness.

The Paris Work-in :: I Will Think of What You Said

I can’t tell you why the LiLo’s record is called Number 37, but I can say with some certainty that this is the 36th song by New York’s Austerity Program.

The Austerity Program :: Song 36

And since we’re in a heavy groove, we could do worse than finishing with a track from Birds, a five track release by Ceremony. All the usual Ceremony ingredients here, which always makes for delicious, fuzzy, feedback-fuelled feast.

Ceremony :: Until Forever
