Masters of hypnotic chilltronica

All India Radio describe themselves as Australia’s masters of hypnotic chilltronica, a vocation that has produced more than half a dozen LPs, none of which had appeared on my musical radar until now.

Lucky, a track from 2009’s A Low High had been knocking around my iTunes for a couple of years before I finally got around to listening to it last week. I was taken in by its rare beauty and quickly sought out the LP in its entirety.

Yesterday, listening to the fourth track, I was, quite literally, stopped in my tracks. Or by the tracks, to be precise, since I was, at that moment, walking along a platform of Brussels’ Ribaucort Metro station.

Of the 16,939 songs in my iTunes, a mere 476 had the much-coveted five-star rating. This is the 477th.
