Day 16 — a song I used to love

Oh the naïveté of youth. There was a time when I though U2 were great. It started with the first LP, Boy and continued through October, but slowly I began to realise what a load of pretentious nonsense it was. War, the third LP, confirmed it.

But while I could have picked any one of several tracks from the early recordings, it is to 1983’s live “mini” LP, Under a Blood Red Sky, that I turn. I really did think this was a great song. Deary me.

And if you’re still unconvinced that U2 are awful, listen to the fourth LP, The [sadly] Unforgettable Fire.
