You can take the Englishman out of England…
Yesterday was the first sunny day of spring, so it was shorts and t-shirt for a trip to Winterthur, where I strolled amongst the Swiss in their winter coats. As I entered Markthalle Trivisano to pick up some Maldon salt, two staff members suddenly engaged in animated chat.
Later, as I paid for my over-priced salt, this conversation ensued.
Woman: Aren’t you freezing?
Me: No, its lovely and warm out there.
Woman: We were talking about you when you came in. We said, “You can tell it’s the Englishman.”
I was thinking only today, that ‘if this wind drops a bit, I could sunbathe out here’. Goodness knows what the neighbours would make of that!
I was sunbathing yesterday! It was gorgeous!
